Synectics - stimulating thought process

Synectics was developed in the 1960's by George Prince and William J Gordon in the USA through working with companies to invent new products and services. Avoiding too much theory, they taped real inventing sessions and found by experience what worked and what did not work when running idea sessions. Simple groundrules help you avoid getting trapped in a dead end and a process which helps generate powerful new ideas and then close down on the winners, Synectics is so widely used as to have gained its name in the dictionary as a process for creativity.
